My 2020 Goals
10 January 2020
After my 2019 review, it is now time to talk about my goals for this new year. This is becoming a tradition – every year, at the beginning of January, I think about my projects, whether they are personal or professional and I decide what I want to achieve in the next twelve months. To be honest, my list is quite long so I am going to summarize it on the blog. As usual, I have three major guidelines which are discovering and learning, well-being and blogging.
Discovering & Learning
As usual, I am always eager to develop my skills and learn new things. I want to continue my Irish dancing classes and learning the guitar. What I really want is to become more serious when it comes to practicing and attending these classes. I also want to go to an exhibition or visit a new place every month. My ultimate goal is to talk about it on a series of articles here, in the blog. In the previous years, I also talked about my goals to read a book per month, watch new movies (and challenging myself trying new genres), going to the cinema …
To me, discovering also means traveling. We did travel last year but stopped in the spring to save money. In 2020, I really want to catch up on all the destinations we want to go to. I really want to spend a week-end in Amsterdam and I am dreaming of a gateway to Germany or Austria around Christmas time. If we can, we would also like to go on a bigger trip to Iceland or Canada. As we will be celebrating our ten years together in October, we will definitely travel for the occasion ! 🙂
If you have been around for a while, you probably know that well-being is an important topic for me. I have been trying to lose weight for years and I really want to achieve this goal in 2020 ! I am aware that I will need a lot of motivation and self-control to succeed and yoga and meditation are keys. Both have helped me find balance in the past few years but I really want to practice more often and seriously. I have been struggling a bit to meditate lately, so this is something I would need to work on.
I also want to be more conscious about my input on the environment. This year, I want to buy more local, seasonal products and to reduce and sort waste in a better way. I also really want to make my own household cleaning products. I am really eager to use products that are better for my health and for the planet.
Finally, I really need to respect my blogging schedule ! I would like to get more organized and post at least once a week. I am also planning to work on a monthly newsletter and a new series of posts. Also, I still have a lot to learn in the blogging world and one of my goals is to finish my Pinterest training. There are a lot of online courses that seem interesting in terms of how to develop a blog. I also want to learn about Google Analytics and SEO. These were goals from last year so I have no excuses in 2020 !
